Yoshara brings extensive experience in Housing and Community Development, Behavioral Health and Social Sciences. She previously served as the Housing Project Coordinator for the City of Jonesboro, AR where she directed the function and activities of the Housing Rehabilitation Program, Homeowner Assistance Grant Program, and local Continuum of Care Program. Yoshara worked rigorously to serve low to moderate income residents within the City of Jonesboro to reduce the increase of homelessness through homeless prevention programs. During her tenure she was able to work alongside city officials to serve in the capacity as the Program Manager for newly launched initiatives such as Jonesboro Neighborhood Leadership.
Yoshara previously served in the capacity as a Clinical Care Coordinator for Beacon Health Options, where she assisted in developing a member’s health management skills, health education, by monitoring the provision of services, including health outcome assessments appropriate to services through facilitation of identified resources and referrals.
Yoshara’s career speaks to her passion for behavioral and health improvement. Prior to her service with the City of Jonesboro, she served as a Mental health Para Professional where she participated in the implementation of person-centered plan approaches, directed therapeutic interventions to build socialization, while also focusing on behavior management skills, and community development skills for clients.
Yoshara currently sits on the board for the Continuum of Care, Northeast, AR; Arkansas Balance of State, and Jonesboro Urban and Housing Development as a Family Self Sufficient Representative. She has experience building relationships with diverse individuals and community organizations.
Yoshara is proficient in community engagement, working with nonprofit organizations and government agencies. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Social work, Sociology and Education and continued her education to obtain a Master of Public Administration from Arkansas State University.
