A public health leader, Dr. Tionna L. Jenkins, brings over 20 years of extensive and diverse experience in the areas of non-profit executive leadership, population health and higher education. Her career has been dedicated to improving the well-being of communities, organizations, and individuals.
Her experience as an executive public health & social impact strategist includes working alongside both international non-profits, global foundations and policy leaders where she was responsible for leading the collaborative efforts with key industry, corporate, governmental, and non-governmental stakeholders.
These collaborative efforts resulted in building strategic and measurable partnerships with 31 corporations and non-governmental organizations resulting in a $41.3 million-dollar investment portfolio. Additionally, during her tenure, she oversaw program and policy development, review, implementation, and research as well as improving the equity portfolio, cultural and linguistic competencies.
Dr. Jenkins is an Assistant Professor of Population Health & Clinical Specialties in the Department of Clinical Medicine at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine-Arkansas and the lead professor and curriculum developer for the collaborative undergraduate partnership between NYIT and Henderson State University.
Dr. Jenkins holds an earned Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Public Health, specializing in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Philander Smith College.
She also holds a Non-Profit Graduate Certification in Business Management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and certifications from both T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University (New York) and Emory University (Georgia) in Plant-Based Nutrition and Diabetes Management
