Christine Hartford, M.D., grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After medical school, she completed a residency in pediatrics at Brown University's Hasbro Children's Hospital. She pursued sub-specialty training in pediatric hematology-oncology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and practiced this specialty for several years before refocusing her career on general pediatrics.
Hartford joined NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. As a member of the faculty in Arkansas, Hartford focuses on bringing primary care to underserved children in the Delta. She works closely with the Delta Care-a-van to accomplish this goal. Her current research interests include studying the social determinants of health, specifically how these social determinants affect the health of children living in rural Arkansas.
In addition to her clinical interests, Hartford spends much of her time working directly with medical students. She teaches classes in the doctor-patient relationship and lectures on a variety of topics related to pediatrics.
